The right coffee franchise depends on your budget, market, and owner role. Start by comparing the business format: a cafe with seating, a drive-thru, a kiosk, or a mobile operation. Then check which brands accept applications in your area.
This guide helps you build a shortlist. It does not rank brands by profit or guarantee their results.
Coffee franchise brands to research
Ziggi’s Coffee, Just Love Coffee Cafe, and Scooter’s Coffee currently invite franchise inquiries through their official websites. Confirm territory availability, qualifications, and written terms directly with each brand.
Ziggi’s Coffee
Ziggi’s offers cafe and drive-thru formats. Compare the format approved for your location and the staffing, site, and opening costs it requires. Read the Ziggi’s Coffee profile and its official franchise information.
Just Love Coffee Cafe
Just Love combines a coffee and food menu with a cafe setting. Compare kitchen needs, seating, labor, and the local customer base. Start with the Just Love Coffee Cafe profile and the brand’s franchise-development page.
Scooter’s Coffee
Scooter’s focuses on drive-thru coffee. Review its official franchise information and check the site and operating requirements for your market.
Compare coffee shop business formats
| Format | What to investigate |
|---|---|
| Cafe with seating | Lease, kitchen needs, seating, customer dwell time, and staffing |
| Drive-thru | Vehicle access, queue space, local approvals, service speed, and equipment |
| Kiosk | Host-location agreement, foot traffic, storage, opening hours, and menu limits |
| Mobile operation | Vehicle costs, permits, event access, travel, storage, and weather exposure |
A smaller footprint does not automatically mean a lower total cost. Obtain a budget for the actual model you plan to open.
Starbucks and Dutch Bros ownership are different
Starbucks uses company-operated and licensed stores. Dutch Bros states that it no longer offers new franchises. Do not treat either brand as a standard franchise available to every buyer.
Read our Starbucks and Dutch Bros ownership comparison before relying on online cost estimates.
How to compare investment and ongoing costs
Separate the franchise fee, full opening investment, liquid capital requirement, and ongoing charges. Include rent, labor, equipment service, inventory, marketing, and a reserve for slower sales.
Build a local cash-flow forecast. Test what happens if opening takes longer, sales grow slowly, or payroll and rent are higher than expected. Brand recognition does not replace a workable budget.
What makes a coffee franchise a good fit?
- Your role: daily operator, manager-led owner, or multi-unit developer.
- Location: access, visibility, customer traffic, and nearby competition.
- Menu: the equipment and labor needed to prepare drinks and food.
- Support: training, site review, opening help, and ongoing coaching.
- Financial fit: total cost, reserves, ongoing fees, and financing obligations.
Speak with current and former owners where possible. Ask what surprised them about opening costs, staffing, and corporate support.
