About Mosquito Authority

Mosquito Authority’s franchise history dates to October 2009, when Original TMA began offering franchises. The system passed through successor entities in 2011 and 2018 before its assets were acquired in October 2020 by the parent of the current franchisor. Main Line Brands LLC was originally formed as Authority Franchising, LLC in September 2020, began offering Mosquito Authority franchises that October and adopted its present name in March 2021.

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Main Line Brands also franchises Pest Authority and Fitness Machine Technicians through separate offerings. It acquired a previously franchised Mosquito Authority operation in Hickory, North Carolina in February 2022 and operates it as a company-owned business. These developments connect the current organization with a system that has been serving local outdoor pest-control markets for more than a decade.

The Mosquito Authority model covers the sale, design, installation and servicing of outdoor misting systems and other repeated-application mosquito, tick and fly control systems. The business serves residential and commercial customers, but commercial fly control belongs to the separate Pest Authority offering. General indoor pest-control services are also outside the standard Mosquito Authority franchise.

Hometown and Full-Size franchises use the same operating model. Hometown territories serve smaller communities and carry a $25,000 initial franchise fee, while the Full-Size franchise fee is $45,000. Business administration may take place at home, at the storage facility or elsewhere in the territory. The chemical storage facility must meet applicable requirements and receive franchisor approval. Service vehicles are equipped for transporting the water tanks, supplies and application equipment needed in the field.

Mosquito Authority Training and Support

Before opening, Mosquito Authority designates the territory and supplies specifications for required equipment, tools, inventory and other operating items. It reviews the proposed chemical storage facility and provides the Brand Standards Manuals. Its pre-opening and first-year marketing package supplies branded materials and advertising assistance; the franchisee remains responsible for securing required licenses and preparing the business and storage premises.

Initial training is approximately five business days, usually at the Charlotte headquarters or through online instruction, with another designated location possible. Subjects include mosquito biology and field work, marketing, office administration, customer-management systems, recruiting and compliance. The owner or designated business manager must complete the program successfully. Additional time working in an established franchisee’s territory may be required, for up to five days.

The initial training fee covers the owner or designated manager and four additional participants. Travel, accommodation, meals, wages and other attendance expenses are paid by the franchisee, and extra attendees or replacement-manager training may incur charges. Training prepares the operating team for the brand’s system; pesticide licensing and permits are separate opening requirements.

After opening, a representative is reasonably available by telephone during business hours to discuss operating experience and support needs. The franchisor communicates standards, researches products and methods, provides marketing materials at its current prices and may offer additional workshops or seminars. An actively involved owner or qualifying manager must attend the annual system conference. Extra on-site assistance may be available by agreement for a fee and expenses.

Mosquito Authority manages its national website and local franchise pages, with digital advertising and business listings subject to centralized brand controls. Franchisees conduct approved local marketing and use the specified business software. This combines local service delivery with a consistent approach to operating procedures and brand presentation.

Why Mosquito Authority

Mosquito Authority offers a focused way to enter outdoor pest control. Its defined service categories let the owner concentrate on a specific customer need, while treatment programs and misting-system work provide different ways to serve properties. The operational emphasis is on arranging service visits, communicating with customers and maintaining consistent field execution.

The two territory formats give qualified buyers a choice between a smaller-community Hometown business and a Full-Size territory. Administration can be home based when the chemical storage arrangements meet the required standards, so the model does not depend on a retail storefront. Vehicle setup, inventory management and route organization remain central to the business.

This opportunity is best suited to an engaged operator. Individual franchisees supervise the business directly; a business entity uses an approved designated business manager who completes training and does not need an ownership interest. For a buyer seeking a specialized local service business, the appeal is a clear service identity, an established operating system and practical preparation for building relationships with customers and managing the team that serves them.

Compare service scope, equipment, scheduling and team responsibilities with our home-service franchise comparison. Confirm the requirements for your intended business format rather than assuming another model’s terms apply.
