About Floor Coverings International
Floor Coverings International dates its mobile showroom model to 1988. The concept brings flooring choices to homeowners so they can compare materials with their existing light, furnishings and décor, rather than relying only on a store display.
The business has developed its sales, technology and owner-support systems alongside that mobile format. In 2021, FCI announced a Franchise Update Media innovation award for its multi-system website platform, introduced in winter 2020 to connect national and local brand sites with in-home appointment booking.
Today, the franchise continues to focus on in-home consultation and installation coordination, with flooring choices including hardwood, carpet, luxury vinyl, laminate and tile. Its owner-development program combines staged training with marketing and operational support.
The official investment page distinguishes its single-franchise offering from additional territory options. The ownership process explains the steps from initial conversations and document review through training and launch.
Floor Coverings International Training and Support
FCI describes a two-year New Franchise Development Program. Six weeks of at-home preparation cover digital modules, business licensing, office arrangements and mobile showroom setup, supported by weekly calls.
The first Atlanta headquarters event runs Tuesday through Friday, covering sales practice, tablet-based measuring and estimating, products, production and business planning. Five further weeks of home learning lead into a second event on marketing, leadership, technology and financial management. After opening, weekly field-training calls continue for 12 weeks; a third Atlanta event around day 90 provides a customized review.
Ongoing resources include local digital marketing, weekly resource calls, quarterly regional meetings and an annual conference. The CRM supports quotes, job tracking and customer management. The official FAQ additionally describes weekly work with a dedicated franchise business consultant during the first year.
Why Floor Coverings International
FCI’s distinctive feature is the customer setting: flooring samples are presented where they will be installed. That creates a consultative role for the owner’s team, combining design conversations with project coordination and follow-up.
The model may suit an owner with business, marketing, sales or operations experience; the official FAQ says prior flooring experience is not required. Owners still need to develop appointments, lead people and manage project quality. The staged training and continuing consultant relationship provide a framework for learning the flooring-specific work.
