About Miracle Method Surface Refinishing

The company behind Miracle Method was formed in Texas in December 1989 as Pistor & Associates, Inc. It began offering Miracle Method franchises in September 1996. In November 2023, the company converted to a limited liability company, adopted the Miracle Method, LLC name and became a wholly owned subsidiary of Threshold Brands. Its headquarters are in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The franchise specializes in restoring existing bathroom and kitchen surfaces in homes and commercial properties, including apartments and hotels. Services cover bathtubs, showers, tile, sinks, vanities and countertops. Most service work takes place at customer locations, while franchisees maintain approved premises with an office, showroom and workshop. The April 10, 2026 FDD reports 213 operating U.S. unit franchises or subfranchises and two master franchises as of December 31, 2025. Those master-franchise arrangements are distinct from the direct unit franchise offered in this FDD.

The estimated initial investment for a standard Miracle Method business is $142,500–$261,800, including a $50,000 initial franchise fee and a $10,000 initial marketing program. The estimate includes $20,000–$40,000 in additional funds for the first three months, excluding an owner’s draw or salary. It assumes leased premises and at least two vehicles; premises buildout, remodeling and refurbishment costs are excluded from the facility estimate. The standard territory contains approximately 150,000 households, with boundaries and available markets subject to the franchise agreement.

Miracle Method Surface Refinishing Training and Support

Preparation begins with five days of on-the-job experience for the owner or Managing Owner at a Miracle Method business in Colorado Springs or another designated location. This precedes the approximately 15-business-day Initial Training Program, normally held at corporate headquarters or another approved location. The program’s table lists 40 classroom hours in administration, advertising, marketing and business management, plus 80 hours of practical technical instruction. Technical training covers repair and refinishing of bathtubs, showers, tile walls, sinks, vanities and countertops; advanced services require additional training at an additional cost.

The initial training allowance covers the owner or Managing Owner and up to four additional participants attending together, including the Designated Manager where applicable. Franchisees pay travel, accommodation, wages and other attendance costs. Additional attendees are charged the applicable workshop rate, disclosed for initial training as $300–$800 per person per day, plus travel. Required participants must complete training satisfactorily before the business opens, and the premises must be secured before initial training.

Pre-opening assistance includes territory designation, vehicle and premises specifications, identification of required equipment and approved suppliers, access to the electronic operating manual and online resources, and help with the pre-opening marketing program. Franchisees are responsible for finding and securing premises; the franchisor approves the site but does not undertake that search. The business must open within 120 days of the franchise agreement, with approved premises, vehicles, supplies, systems and insurance.

Ongoing guidance addresses operating methods, purchasing, marketing materials, bookkeeping, accounting and inventory control through manuals, bulletins, electronic communications, calls or meetings. The franchisor also provides access to its operating manual, system updates, an approved online presence and required software administration. Periodic business visits, conferences, additional digital marketing services and administration of the National Accounts Program are discretionary or subject to separate requirements and fees; they should not be treated as guaranteed customer leads.

Continuing education is an ongoing owner responsibility. The owner, Managing Owner or Designated Manager must attend conventions and at least one workshop each calendar year. Conventions may last up to four days and carry registration fees up to $1,500 per attendee, plus travel; workshops cover technical, marketing and administrative topics. Replacement Designated Managers must complete initial training within 60 days of employment, or the first available program if no class is held in that period. Remedial training and certification for certain national-account work may bring additional costs.

The current Brand Fund contribution is 2% of gross revenues. Local advertising of at least 10% of monthly gross revenues or $1,500 per technician, whichever is greater, is recommended rather than required; participation in an advertising cooperative is required when the applicable conditions are met. The required software is estimated at $500 per month, in addition to a $600 monthly Technology Fee. Franchisees remain responsible for their hardware, maintenance and upgrades, and brand-fund spending is not guaranteed in any particular market.

Why Miracle Method Surface Refinishing

Miracle Method offers a clear service proposition for an owner who wants to build a refinishing business around kitchens and bathrooms. The same specialized skills apply to several surfaces and to both household and commercial properties. Its combination of customer-site work and a showroom gives owners a way to demonstrate the service while building a team that delivers it. Practical technical training and established operating specifications provide a starting framework for that work.

The model suits an owner comfortable managing technicians, scheduling jobs, maintaining service quality and developing customer relationships. The business must operate full time. An approved Designated Manager may run day-to-day operations in certain circumstances, but the owner remains responsible for training and management obligations and must step in if that manager leaves until a trained replacement is in place.

Territory protection limits another Miracle Method business operating from premises within the assigned area while the franchisee complies with the agreement, subject to reserved rights. It is not an exclusive territory: national accounts, other distribution channels and other specified exceptions remain. Qualified franchisees may pursue national-account work or apply for additional territories under separate requirements. The investment case is the opportunity to develop a focused local service operation using the brand’s refinishing system, with performance dependent on execution and the market.
