About Club Pilates

Club Pilates franchises were first offered in September 2012 by Club Pilates Global, LLC. Club Pilates Franchise, LLC acquired the franchise system and related intellectual property in March 2015 and offered franchises through March 2023. The current franchisor, Club Pilates Franchise SPV, LLC, was formed in Delaware on March 6, 2023 and began selling franchises on April 4, 2023 following an internal reorganization. Based in Irvine, California, it is part of the Xponential Fitness group. Tianna Strateman has served as brand president since September 2024, following earlier leadership roles in training and experience.

A typical studio occupies approximately 1,500–1,800 square feet, generally in a retail shopping center. The designated equipment package includes 12 Pilates Reformer stations with mats, Springboards, EXO Chairs, TRX units and smaller exercise equipment, plus a private-training room with a Cadillac/Reformer combination and Ladder Barrel. Approved services include Pilates, strength, stretching and mobility classes, with teacher training available when the studio meets the additional instructor requirements.

The estimated initial investment for one studio is $413,289–$1,029,811, including a standard $65,000 franchise fee. The estimate covers development, the presales phase and the first three months after the studio’s soft opening, with categories for leasehold improvements, equipment, initial marketing, technology and operating funds. It excludes taxes and uses the assumptions specified for the single-studio offering. Multi-studio development is a separate arrangement with additional fees and an agreed opening schedule.

Club Pilates Training and Support

Owner training addresses studio sales, member onboarding and retention, marketing, retail, recruiting and daily operations. The owner/operator module lists nine classroom hours at the Irvine headquarters or another designated training facility. An appointed manager must complete the separate 20-hour manager program, which includes ClubReady software, prospect generation, performance review, membership sales, marketing and private-training sales. The manager program may be delivered at headquarters or virtually. Required training must be completed before the studio opens; initial owner training has no separate tuition charge when attendees train together, while travel and attendance expenses remain the franchisee’s responsibility.

Instructor preparation is a separate requirement. Instructors must already meet the brand’s eligibility criteria, including at least 450 hours of Pilates instruction through an industry-recognized institution, and complete the proprietary Instructor Bridge Training Program. Bridge training is delivered remotely, typically takes nine to 12 hours and currently costs $200 per instructor. It is brand onboarding, not a replacement for comprehensive Pilates preparation. Studios offering the Teacher Training Program must meet the additional requirements for a Master Instructor.

Before opening, the franchisor provides access to its digital learning management system, studio design specifications, equipment and approved supplier information, and consultation on presales and the Opening Support Program. The owner secures and develops an approved site. On-site soft-opening assistance is discretionary and may involve additional expenses. After opening, the system provides approved equipment and supplier standards, advisory assistance as the franchisor considers appropriate, and additional training resources. Requested training may carry fees; the owner also pays attendance expenses.

Required business software supports class scheduling, member payments, records and reports. Franchisees fund the hardware, technology, software and required updates. Marketing combines an approved opening campaign, local promotion and the Brand Development Fund. The current local advertising minimum is the greater of $1,500 or 2% of gross sales each month, subject to the agreement’s adjustment and expenditure-cap provisions; the current brand-fund contribution is a separate 2%. Fund spending is allocated across the system and is not guaranteed in a particular studio’s area.

Why Club Pilates

Club Pilates gives an owner a focused boutique-fitness concept built around a consistent equipment format and instructor-led programming. Group classes, private instruction and approved teacher-training activities provide distinct ways for a qualified team to serve its local community. The business places the owner’s attention on building that team, welcoming members and managing a studio experience that encourages ongoing participation.

The operating framework connects the studio design and equipment with sales training, instructor standards, business software and launch planning. Separate owner, manager and instructor programs address the different responsibilities within the business, helping an owner organize staffing and operations around clearly defined roles. For someone who enjoys local relationship building and team leadership, this creates a concrete path into managing a Pilates studio.

Club Pilates recommends personal owner supervision but permits an approved, trained manager to oversee daily operations. The studio must always be managed and staffed by at least one person who has completed the designated-manager program, and instructors must meet the brand’s qualification and onboarding requirements.
