British Swim School gives owners a swim-school franchise centered on water-safety skills and stroke development, with private and group lessons spanning babies' first experiences in the water through advanced swimming instruction. Its membership and lesson-subscription model serves children and adults, with particular emphasis on children age 10 and under. Approved rented and licensed pool arrangements offer alternatives to owning a pool, while the franchise supplies aquatics training, business instruction and operating standards. For an owner who enjoys leading a team and working with local families, the concept combines a specialized educational service with an active role in running the business.

About British Swim School

British Swim School teaches water-safety skills, stroke development, breathing techniques and coordination through private and group lessons. Its documented franchise history began with British Swim Centers Franchising, LLC, formed in Florida in March 2011, which offered British Swim School franchises from May 2011 through April 2019. The current franchisor, British Swim School Franchising, LLC, was formed in Delaware in March 2019 and began offering franchises on June 12, 2019. Through BSS Acquisition Holdings, it is part of Buzz Franchise Brands. The 2026 FDD describes lessons for all ages, particularly children age 10 and under, and approved related activities and products.

Item 1 describes approved owned, independently rented and licensed pool arrangements. Owners are responsible for securing pool access and the required approvals and agreements. A suitable pool is not guaranteed. Compare rental or licensing costs, available hours and staffing before selecting a location.

The 2026 FDD, issued April 21 and amended June 13, lists an estimated initial investment of $122,700–$176,050 for one Standard Territory, including a $59,500 initial franchise fee before applicable discounts. A Targeted Territory is $95,200–$151,050, with a $39,500 initial fee. These are distinct formats under Items 5 and 7. The main investment and fee figures on this page refer to a Standard Territory.

Item 15 requires direct, full-time supervision by the owner or, for an entity, a Designated Manager with at least 50% ownership and voting power. An Aquatics Manager is required if the owner will not train and manage swim instructors. Review the required marketing, technology, pool and staffing costs alongside your operating plan.

British Swim School Training and Support

Item 11 of the 2026 FDD, issued April 21 and amended June 13, estimates 89 hours of classroom/online training and 20 hours of on-the-job training. Training combines self-paced, virtual and in-person instruction, including aquatics, operations, marketing, finance, human resources, business management and customer service. In-person training is in Virginia Beach or another designated location, with aquatics training at a designated Certified Training Location. Length and content may vary with attendee experience.

The owner or Designated Manager and applicable Aquatics Manager must complete the required program satisfactorily before lessons begin. Initial tuition for these attendees is included when they attend together, except for the required $200-per-person financial-management course for each owner and Designated Manager. Travel and living expenses are paid by the franchisee. Additional employees may attend if space allows, currently at $900 per person; additional training can incur further charges. See Items 5, 7 and 11 and Franchise Agreement Sections 3.K and 4.A.

Item 11 describes pool-selection criteria and approval, an operations manual, marketing guidelines, required computer systems and instructor-training criteria. Operating guidance may be based on reports or inspections; some assistance and visits are discretionary or chargeable. The franchisee remains responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and supervising staff. Review the written scope and recurring costs rather than assuming unlimited coaching or guaranteed enrollment.

Why British Swim School

British Swim School brings together water-safety instruction, swimming development and a membership-based lesson business. The program serves learners at different stages, from introducing babies to the water through advanced skills, giving an owner a focused service around which to build relationships with local families. Private and group lessons, a defined aquatics program and instructor-training standards provide the core of the concept.

The choice of approved owned, rented or licensed pools allows owners to pursue different facility arrangements. Business and aquatics training, an operations manual and centrally managed marketing programs support the franchise model. This is a fit to consider for someone who wants to lead people and manage a local education business: operations require direct, full-time supervision by the owner or a qualifying owner-manager, and instructor leadership requires the trained owner or an Aquatics Manager. Pool access, staffing and marketing remain meaningful operating responsibilities.
