Renew Medic Franchise: Cabinet Restoration, Training and Owner Duties

Jul 20, 2025 | 0 comments

Renew Medic Franchise

The Renew Medic franchise focuses on cabinet repair, restoration, renewal and related services. A prospective owner should evaluate the technical work, staffing, premises and customer-development responsibilities before treating it as an investment opportunity. This overview uses the May 14, 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document issued by Renew Medic Franchising, LLC.

What does Renew Medic do?

Item 1 describes residential and commercial cabinet repair, restoration, transformation, renovation, resale and manufacturing services. The customer audience includes homeowners, business owners, insurance companies and others responsible for cabinetry. The permitted services are governed by the franchise agreement and operations manual.

Restoration may be relevant when cabinetry is damaged, but the appropriate method depends on the condition and scope of each project. This article does not promise a fixed percentage saving, a universal turnaround time or that replacement will always be unnecessary. Ask how the business evaluates repairability, documents work and coordinates with other contractors and claim participants.

Franchisor history and related brands

Renew Medic Franchising, LLC was formed in December 2023 and began offering Renew Medic franchises on April 18, 2024. It is affiliated with Furniture Medic under the ownership structure described in Item 1. The older affiliate’s operating history should not be presented as the age of the Renew Medic franchise system.

Item 1 permits referrals or subcontracting between certain affiliated operations, but does not require Furniture Medic franchisees to send work to Renew Medic franchisees. Evaluate the actual agreements and local relationships rather than assuming that affiliation supplies a customer base.

Premises and owner involvement

The FDD requires a physical location with designated warehouse space for equipment and products and office space for meetings and administrative work. It also describes branded service vehicles. These requirements should be included in a local staffing and operating plan.

Item 15 requires the owner to devote full time, energy and best efforts to the business unless the franchisor approves otherwise in writing. If personal supervision is waived, the business needs a trained manager responsible for direct, on-premises supervision. A management exception is not an unconditional passive or semi-absentee ownership option.

Training and continuing support

Item 11 describes approximately 30 hours of online preparation followed by a two-week initial program, typically at the training center in Memphis, Tennessee. The curriculum includes technical work on cabinet repairs, removal, installation, finishing, materials and safety, along with accounting, hiring, sales, marketing and operations. Actual hours may vary.

Initial training is included for three approved attendees within the franchise fee, while travel, living expenses and wages remain the franchisee’s responsibility. Additional attendees and later training may involve charges. Confirm the schedule, required preparation and staff attendance before setting an opening date.

Support provisions include approved supplier information, marketing materials, an intranet and operations manual, and administration of specified brand and referral programs. These services support the operating system; they do not establish a guaranteed volume of work or a financial return.

Territory and referral programs

Item 12 explicitly states that the territory is nonexclusive. Competition can come from other franchisees, company-owned outlets and other distribution channels or affiliated brands. Marketing outside the territory is restricted, while certain customer-initiated or referral assignments outside it may be permitted.

Participation in the Medic Referral Network requires approval. The administrator may distribute assignments, but is not required to do so, and an owner does not have an exclusive right to assignments originating in the territory. Review these limits before forecasting revenue from insurance or national-account relationships.

Questions for evaluating the opportunity

  • Which cabinet services will the proposed business offer, and what technical qualifications and equipment do they require?
  • What local premises, staffing, vehicle, insurance and compliance costs should be budgeted?
  • Who will manage the business full-time, and what written approval would any alternative arrangement require?
  • How do current and former franchisees describe referral volume, customer acquisition, payment timing and project variability?
  • What do the applicable FDD and agreements say about fees, operating funds and any financial performance representations?
