HOODZ Franchise: Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning, Training and Ownership

Jul 25, 2024 | 0 comments

The HOODZ franchise focuses on commercial kitchen exhaust and related cleaning and maintenance services. It offers a specialized business-to-business model for buyers interested in managing technicians and developing relationships with food-service establishments. The opportunity deserves a close look at technical training, customer scheduling and management duties, rather than broad promises of recurring revenue or recession resistance.

The HOODZ business and its history

HOODZ International, LLC was formed in October 2008 and began offering franchises in January 2009. Its parent is BELFOR Franchise Group. The March 30, 2026 FDD, amended September 11, 2026, describes services involving commercial exhaust hood systems, conveyor ovens, kitchen equipment, grease containment, grease filters, grease traps and filter exchange for establishments that prepare or serve food.

The model encompasses cleaning, inspection, maintenance, repairs, installation and restoration within its authorized scope. A prospective owner should identify which services the local operation will provide and what qualifications, equipment and staffing each requires.

Initial training and launch preparation

Item 11 begins with Jumpstart, a self-guided preparation program supported by the training team. Activities include a financial plan, territory review, initial advertising, insurance, premises, permits and approved vehicles. It takes place in the franchisee’s hometown before the next training stage.

Business Manager and Technical Operations Training lasts up to twelve days at headquarters or another designated location. It covers sales, marketing, business operations, software, safety, equipment, chemicals and technical standards. The Managing Owner and any applicable Designated Manager must complete the required programs. Their initial program has no additional training fee, but travel and living expenses remain the franchisee’s responsibility.

HOODZ provides system standards and a purchased initial package. Owners select their own premises, subject to approval, and handle local requirements. The FDD does not promise assistance with site selection or lease negotiation. A home-based site may be permitted if it meets the space, storage and safety requirements.

Ongoing support and owner involvement

Item 11 describes operational information, software support, updates to system standards and periodic refresher training or conferences. Additional guidance on products, marketing and daily operations is provided to the extent HOODZ considers necessary. That distinction matters when deciding what work you will handle yourself or through employees.

Under Item 15, an approved Managing Owner has day-to-day responsibility. An applicable Designated Manager also requires approval and training. The responsible manager must devote full-time effort to the business, and the franchisee must employ at least one service technician before opening and is responsible for that employee’s training.

Questions to ask before choosing HOODZ

Ask franchisees how they schedule access to operating kitchens, recruit technicians, document completed work and manage customer payments. Explore how service frequency varies among customers and how new accounts are won. Repeated maintenance needs do not by themselves guarantee contracts, retention or a particular income.

Use the HOODZ franchise profile to continue your review. Compare it with the broader property-service scope of the Rolling Suds franchise if you are deciding between a specialized kitchen business and a wider cleaning service menu.
