What services does HomeWell provide?
The franchise’s primary services include personal care, non-medical assistance and companionship, delivered by employees hired by the franchisee. Supplemental staffing, skilled nursing and other medical services are optional offerings that require franchisor authorization and applicable licenses. The owner manages a care-service organization with dedicated staff responsibilities.
HomeWell’s history and current organization
Founder Joshua Hoffman operated a HomeWell Senior Care business in Seattle from 2002 until its sale to a franchisee in 2011. The franchising company was incorporated in Washington in May 2002 as HomeWell Senior Care, Inc., and began offering franchises in May 2003.
The company converted to a Texas corporation in 2016. It began offering new franchises under the HomeWell and HomeWell Care Services names in May 2019 and became HomeWell Franchising Inc. in December 2020. In December 2025, it converted to a Delaware limited liability company and adopted the name HomeWell Franchising LLC. MPP HW Acquisition, LLC acquired it on December 18, 2025, with MPP HW Holdings, LLC becoming its indirect parent. Headquarters are in Burkburnett, Texas.
HomeWell franchise cost and fee options
The April 20, 2026 FDD estimates an initial investment of $69,401.20–$233,912 for a single territory. New franchisees can choose a $49,500 initial fee with the standard royalty structure, or a $15,000 initial fee with a higher royalty structure. Under the lower-fee option, royalties are 10% of gross revenues or the applicable minimum, whichever is greater, for the first $1.5 million in gross revenues; afterward, they become 6% or the applicable minimum. A separate $5,000 training fee covers up to two attendees.
The investment estimate includes office setup, staffing, marketing and additional funds. HomeWell requires a separate commercial office. The additional-funds estimate excludes employee wages, owner compensation and living expenses, and wages for caregivers providing client services. HomeWell does not offer direct or indirect financing.
Training before opening and during the first year
Item 11 lists 39.5 classroom hours, including online modules, and 72 on-the-job training and coaching hours. Topics cover business setup, inquiries, assessments, care management, operating systems, performance measures, talent recruitment and retention, sales and marketing. The on-the-job category includes office coaching, calls and email guidance.
Initial instruction is expected to be virtual, with in-person training in Burkburnett available when considered appropriate. The Managing Owner and designated manager must complete required training before opening. The program includes a one-day pre-opening office inspection and three days of on-site training during the first year. A one-to-three-day visit at an operating location before opening is encouraged and paid for by the franchisee.
The $5,000 training fee covers two people; additional attendees can incur materials and meal costs. Owners pay trainee wages, travel and living expenses. Opening resources include the operating manual, office approval, purchase specifications and approved suppliers. The franchisee secures and equips the office and handles local permits and compliance.
Continuing support and management requirements
HomeWell provides telephone and email support during business hours, administrative guidance upon request, periodic office visits, group conference calls, training and a dedicated page on the corporate website. Refresher training may be required. New owners and managers must complete initial training before taking responsibility; replacement training can carry a $1,000 fee per person, waived for regularly scheduled sessions, plus materials or meal costs. Requested extra on-site training is discretionary and may cost up to $1,200 per day plus the franchisor’s expenses.
A franchisor-approved Managing Owner oversees the business, with delegation to a qualified, trained manager permitted under stated conditions. A separate full-time Care Manager coordinates client assessments and care plans. The Managing Owner cannot serve as that Care Manager or take primary responsibility for day-to-day sales and marketing.
