About HomeWell Care Services
HomeWell’s founder, Joshua Hoffman, operated a HomeWell Senior Care business in Seattle, Washington, from 2002 until its sale to a franchisee in 2011. The franchising company was incorporated in Washington in May 2002 as HomeWell Senior Care, Inc., and began offering franchises in May 2003. This early development established the brand’s focus on supporting seniors and other people who require assistance at home.
The company converted to a Texas corporation in May 2016. From May 2019, new franchises were offered under the HomeWell and HomeWell Care Services names, and the franchising company became HomeWell Franchising Inc. in December 2020. In December 2025, it converted to a Delaware limited liability company and took its current name, HomeWell Franchising LLC. On December 18, 2025, it was acquired by MPP HW Acquisition, LLC, with MPP HW Holdings, LLC becoming its indirect parent. Its headquarters are in Burkburnett, Texas.
The current franchise offering focuses on personal care, non-medical assistance and companionship delivered by employees hired by the franchisee. Additional staffing and skilled-nursing or other medical services are optional offerings that require franchisor authorization and applicable licenses. Owners operate from an approved commercial office, with a dedicated Care Manager overseeing client assessments and care plans.
The April 20, 2026 FDD estimates an initial investment of $69,401.20–$233,912 for a single territory. New franchisees can choose a $49,500 initial franchise fee with the standard royalty structure, or a $15,000 initial fee with a higher royalty on the first $1.5 million of gross revenue. A separate $5,000 training fee covers up to two attendees. Item 7 includes additional funds for three months; its additional-funds estimate excludes employee wages, owner compensation and living expenses, and wages for caregivers providing client services. The franchisor does not offer direct or indirect financing.
HomeWell Care Services Training and Support
HomeWell’s initial program prepares the Managing Owner and designated manager, where applicable, before opening. The Item 11 curriculum lists 39.5 classroom hours, including self-paced online modules, and 72 hours of on-the-job training and coaching. Subjects cover the home care industry and business setup, inquiries and client assessments, care management, operating systems and performance measures, talent recruitment and retention, sales and marketing. On-the-job hours include coaching at the franchisee’s office and guidance by calls and email.
As of April 2026, initial instruction is expected to be virtual, with in-person training in Burkburnett, Texas, available when the franchisor considers it appropriate. Owners must complete the required program and pass a one-day pre-opening office inspection. HomeWell also provides three days of on-site training during the first year to address operating challenges. An optional visit of one to three days at an operating HomeWell location is encouraged before opening, with travel and accommodation arranged and paid by the franchisee.
The nonrefundable initial training fee is $5,000 for up to two people. Additional attendees may incur materials and meal costs, and the franchisee pays trainees’ wages, travel and living expenses. Opening assistance includes office approval, access to the Brand Standards Manual and specifications and approved suppliers for required purchases. The owner secures and equips the office, handles local permits and compliance, and arranges installation of purchased items.
Ongoing support includes telephone and email guidance during business hours, assistance with administrative procedures upon request, periodic office visits and operating recommendations, group conference calls, periodic training and a dedicated page on the corporate website. Refresher or additional courses may be required for owners, managers and employees. New Managing Owners and managers must complete initial training before taking responsibility. Training for replacements can carry a $1,000 fee per person, waived for regularly scheduled sessions, plus materials or meal costs. Requested extra on-site training is discretionary and may cost up to $1,200 per day plus the franchisor’s expenses. System-wide training may carry additional fees; trainee compensation and travel remain the owner’s responsibility. These details are drawn from Item 11 of the April 20, 2026 FDD.
Why HomeWell Care Services
HomeWell may appeal to an entrepreneur who wants to build a community service business through strong relationships, thoughtful staffing and consistent client support. Its personal-care and companionship offering gives owners a clear customer focus, while the training curriculum connects care management with recruitment, sales and business operations. The opportunity centers on leading a local team: a franchisor-approved Managing Owner oversees the business, with a trained manager permitted under stated conditions. A separate full-time Care Manager is required, and the Managing Owner cannot serve as that Care Manager or take primary responsibility for day-to-day sales and marketing.
