Gotcha Covered Franchise: Window Treatments, Training and Ownership

Jul 25, 2024 | 0 comments

Gotcha Covered franchises sell and install window treatments, including blinds, shades, draperies, fabrics and related merchandise. For buyers interested in design, sales and customer service, the model combines product selection with order and installation coordination. An office is optional, allowing an owner to begin from home while following the franchise system’s operating requirements.

Gotcha Covered’s franchise history

Gotcha Covered Franchising, LLC was formed in May 2009 and began offering franchises that month. Its predecessor, V2K Window Fashions, began franchising in 1997. Some V2K owners converted to Gotcha Covered; the April 8, 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document states that no franchises remain under the V2K Window Décor & More name.

How the home-based business works

The business sells and installs approved window treatment products. A retail storefront is not required, and Item 11 does not obligate the franchisor to help select an office. Home-based operation still involves customer appointments, product orders, installation coordination, marketing and administrative work.

The required computer system supports daily workflow, customer ordering, purchase orders and installations. Gotcha Linked software is included in the Franchise Starter Package. Owners must use the specified systems, record sales and arrange for equipment maintenance and support at their own cost.

Initial training and ongoing support

Item 11 describes an approximately six-week initial training program combining virtual sessions, eLearning, webinars and vendor-led instruction. Week five takes place in Denver, Colorado, or another designated location. Training covers business management, products, marketing, customer relations and sales. Onboarding before the program can take an additional two to four weeks, and opening depends on completing the required conditions.

After opening, ongoing learning may include vendor sessions, webinars and online courses. The franchisor provides access to operating manuals and, on reasonable request, guidance on operations, marketing, staff training and administration. Approved promotional materials and system websites are also part of the support described in Item 11. Onsite visits and conferences are discretionary services rather than guaranteed recurring assistance.

The franchise owner’s role

Under Item 15, the business is managed by the individual franchisee or a designated owner of the franchisee entity. The franchisor may allow a manager to handle daily operations. The owner or designated owner, and any manager, must successfully complete training. This is a managed operating business, with brand standards and marketing requirements, rather than unrestricted control over every business decision.

Evaluating a window treatment franchise

Consider how customer consultations, sales follow-up, supplier coordination and installation scheduling fit your skills and preferred workday. Review the current FDD’s investment and fee disclosures alongside your local operating budget, and assess financial performance information using the definitions and limitations in Item 19.
