About USA Insulation
USA Insulation sells and installs insulation products for homeowners, including proprietary injection foam, polyurethane spray foam, blown fiberglass and rolled or batten fiberglass insulation. The customer process starts with evaluating insulation needs and selecting approved products for the property. The proprietary foam system uses specialized truck equipment to combine components and deliver the foam into wall cavities.
The brand’s operating affiliate has run a similar insulation business since April 1985. The franchisor was formed in March 2006, began franchising that month and converted to a limited liability company in December 2020. USA Insulation became part of Threshold Brands in 2021. The April 10, 2026 FDD describes a system based in Cleveland, Ohio, with a history spanning both company operations and franchised locations.
A typical franchise uses 2,500 to 3,500 square feet in a light-industrial area, with office and warehouse space, product storage and parking for two approved vehicles. At least one approved truck is required. The initial franchise fee is $45,000 for a Small Market territory or $55,000 for a Large Market territory, with separate qualification rules for discount and conversion programs. Staff who sell or install proprietary foam products must complete the relevant training and receive authorization from the franchisor.
USA Insulation Training and Support
The initial program combines remote New Office Launch preparation with management, technical and sales training. Subjects include administration, customer relationship management, incoming calls, the sales process, marketing, installation and safety. Owners, managers and personnel who sell or install the proprietary foam products attend the components appropriate to their roles. Initial tuition is included for the specified participants attending together before opening, while the franchisee pays attendance expenses and required third-party training costs.
Pre-opening assistance includes site-selection guidelines, review of the proposed location and lease, access to the operations manuals, required-item and supplier lists, and review of the facility’s layout and design. The affiliate supplies the truck upfit package and proprietary foam materials when purchased. Franchisees complete third-party training in building and energy science and safety, along with locally required certifications. Additional on-site instruction may be offered after initial training.
After launch, the franchisor provides website contact listings for compliant franchisees, reviews marketing materials, administers the brand fund and provides approved internet-presence support and payment processing. Continuing consultation and additional or refresher training may be provided as the franchisor considers necessary. Optional digital marketing, phone, messaging and other services carry their applicable fees. Franchisees remain responsible for local staffing, advertising execution and training-related travel and attendance costs.
Why USA Insulation
USA Insulation gives an owner a focused service offering that connects a homeowner’s insulation assessment with an installation team equipped for the selected products. Its proprietary foam materials and truck application system distinguish the operating model, while the wider approved product range lets a location address different insulation needs. The training and authorization process ties sales and installation responsibilities to specific preparation.
The franchise is suited to an owner who wants to manage a local team, customer relationships and service quality personally. Owner participation is required. A dedicated manager may take over day-to-day on-site management only after at least 18 months of operation and with the franchisor’s approval and required training. This creates a clearly defined owner-led starting point for building the business.
