About The Patch Boys
The Patch Boys is a drywall, plaster and ceiling-repair franchise whose operating roots reach back to a company-owned Brooklyn business that ran from 2006 to 2019. Its predecessor offered franchises from 2015 through early 2020, taking the brand from a local repair operation into franchise ownership.
A new chapter began on June 4, 2020, when BELFOR Franchise Group acquired the predecessor’s assets, including the brand, operating system and existing franchise agreements. Patch Boys International, LLC, formed that May, became the franchisor and began offering franchises in August 2020. The business continues within the BELFOR Franchise Group family from its Ann Arbor, Michigan headquarters.
Today’s franchise specializes in light restoration and reconstruction, including installing or repairing drywall, plaster and ceiling treatments, with related services such as painting and trim replacement. Owners build a local service business using the brand’s operating methods, customer-management technology and standards. An office may be based at the owner’s home within the assigned territory or in an approved commercial space.
The development direction described in the March 30, 2026 FDD is a nationwide network of local franchise owners working under shared methods and brand standards. The system can evolve through revised manuals, training and service offerings. This gives prospective owners a clear picture of the brand’s path: local repair-business roots, a franchise expansion phase and continued development within an established franchise group.
The Patch Boys Training and Support
Preparation for a new Patch Boys franchise starts with JumpStart immediately after signing the franchise agreement and paying the initial fee. Owners work through online modules, training manuals and local activities with guidance from the training team and home-office staff. The program covers a financial plan, territory review, initial advertising, insurance, applicable office arrangements, permits, licenses and approved vehicles. It may take six to eight weeks depending on the owner’s pace and must be completed within two months of signing, before in-person training and opening.
Initial training takes place at the Ann Arbor, Michigan headquarters, BELFOR Franchise Group headquarters or another designated location. The program lasts up to four days and combines classroom and practical instruction in sales and marketing, software and technology, estimating and pricing, business management, equipment and technical procedures. The managing owner or designated manager must complete it satisfactorily. Manuals, videos and handouts support the instruction; the 2026 FDD identifies Nathan Willard, training director Ragan Neblett and technical trainer Jake Preedin as training leaders.
Owners pay their travel and living expenses for training. Additional employees may attend subject to approval, available space and applicable fees. Before launch, the franchisor supplies operating manuals and standards, a dedicated business phone number and an initial package that includes branded materials, digital marketing, promotional items, consumables and an allowance toward required van graphics. Owners remain responsible for selecting their office, securing permits, recruiting staff and setting service prices.
After opening, the support framework includes assistance with the required franchise-management software and periodic revisions to operating manuals and standards. The franchisor also provides operational information based on submitted reports or inspections. Guidance on services, supplies, marketing, accounting and daily operations is provided to the extent the franchisor considers necessary; it is not a promise of a fixed schedule of coaching or field visits.
Continuing development includes required conventions when offered and periodic refresher instruction. These sessions may cover technical work, business planning and marketing, with registration, travel and living costs borne by the owner. Additional on-site field training carries a separate fee. Together, the preparation, practical instruction and ongoing system resources give owners a defined framework for learning and operating the business.
