About Romp n’ Roll
Michael and Babz Barnett founded Romp n’ Roll in 2004 after experiencing the inconvenience of taking their children to separate places for gym, art and music activities. A July 2007 company announcement described the response to their first two Virginia locations and their goal of bringing several kinds of enrichment together under one roof.
That announcement documented the company’s early franchise development with The Findley Group, led by former Curves International president Gary Findley. It reported agreements for additional locations across several states. Those agreements were expansion plans at the time, not evidence that every proposed center opened.
The central idea remains visible in today’s program: focus on young children while offering several activities, rather than specialize in only one activity. Classes, memberships, birthday parties and camps provide different ways for families to participate. See the current Romp n’ Roll franchise opportunity for the brand’s description of its model.
Romp n’ Roll Training and Support
Romp n’ Roll describes initial training at its headquarters and an operating location. The curriculum covers business operations, delivering the activity program, customer experience and marketing. Before opening, the company also provides site-selection and build-out guidance, followed by a structured grand-opening program.
Ongoing resources include a proprietary learning platform, regular check-ins and connections with fellow franchise owners. Digital campaigns and local marketing templates support outreach to families. These resources complement the local owner’s responsibilities for staffing, scheduling and customer service. The official franchise program describes these support areas; specific contractual requirements are set out in the franchise documents.
Why Romp n’ Roll
Romp n’ Roll offers an owner the chance to organize a business around a defined stage of family life. A young child can explore movement, music and creative activities in the same setting, while parents have opportunities to participate and meet other families.
The variety of programs gives the local team several ways to engage families, from a regular class to a birthday celebration. This may suit a buyer who values a lively, people-centered workplace and enjoys leading staff who work with young children. The founders’ original focus on combining activities remains a clear point of distinction to explain in local outreach.
