About Mister Sparky

Mister Sparky’s predecessor, Mister Sparky Franchising, L.L.C., began offering franchises in July 2006. The current franchisor, Mister Sparky Franchising SPE LLC, was organized in Delaware in March 2021 and became the franchisor on May 14, 2021 as part of a financing and corporate restructuring. Existing U.S. franchise agreements, trademarks and related intellectual property transferred to the new entity, which began offering franchises on May 17, 2021.

Authority Brands, Inc. is an indirect parent and provides franchise support and services under a management agreement. The franchisor remains responsible for fulfilling its contractual obligations. The company is headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. Other Authority Brands businesses operate in separate home-service categories; the Mister Sparky franchise described in this FDD focuses on electrical services.

The April 26, 2026 FDD estimates $133,273–$276,702 to establish a new business in one territory with approximately 200,000 people. This includes a $33,000 franchise fee and $60,000–$90,000 in additional funds for the first three months. The estimate assumes leased business premises and varies with vehicles, staffing, territory size and local costs; the upper estimate includes three months of pay for a non-owner manager.

Electrical work is performed for homeowners and qualifying light commercial customers. Franchisees are responsible for maintaining all required electrical and contractor licenses, which vary by location and may include ownership qualifications. The business competes with national, regional and local electrical providers in an established service market.

Mister Sparky Training and Support

The initial training program has two phases: a one-hour instructor-led online introduction to Success Academy Online, followed by 35 hours of Branded Operations Orientation Training, or BOOT, in Phoenix, Arizona. The Key Person and any owners designated by the franchisor must complete the required program successfully at least three weeks before opening. The program is provided without tuition for the franchisee and up to one additional owner or Key Person; attendees pay their travel, accommodation, meals and salaries.

BOOT covers safety, brand compliance, pricing, hiring and personnel management, finance, purchasing, marketing, customer service, guarantees, telephone handling and dispatching. Training materials include the operations manual, Success Academy resources and workbooks. The FDD anticipates a possible additional on-site training phase with an approved franchisee in 2026 or early 2027; that prospective change is separate from the current one-hour online and 35-hour BOOT schedule.

Before opening, the franchisor assists with ordering required equipment and technology, supplies access to the operating manual, helps establish applicable portal and call-center accounts, and works with the franchisee on a pre-opening and grand-opening marketing plan. Opening support is provided in the form and amount the franchisor determines appropriate. Extra support beyond its customary assistance may carry a fee and expenses.

Franchisees select premises subject to approval and remain responsible for zoning, licensing and other local requirements. Current policy offers general site criteria and discretionary counseling; site-selection assistance is not a contractual obligation. The FDD estimates opening approximately three to four months after signing, with timing affected by licensing, premises, vehicles, hiring and training.

Ongoing support includes maintaining brand standards and the franchisee portal where applicable, communicating supplier requirements, administering brand assessments, managing the Brand Fund and reviewing proposed advertising. Creative materials financed by the Brand Fund are made available, while franchisees pay reproduction and customization costs. The franchisor also manages applicable customer-guarantee programs and Key Account relationships.

Required and optional continuing training may be delivered in person, online, by video or through designated providers. Voluntary role-based learning includes Success Academy courses, webinars and computer-based instruction. These courses generally have no tuition, although franchisees pay attendance expenses and certain third-party courses carry vendor fees. The franchisor may vary training content and duration according to experience and may require designated participants to complete additional programs.

Franchisees must spend $18,000 on pre-opening and grand-opening marketing, with materials, digital collateral and preferred-vendor resources available to help execute the plan. Ongoing local marketing and Brand Fund obligations are additional. Required operating technology includes the designated ServiceTitan platform; software and continuing technology services carry their own charges. These resources support operations but do not guarantee leads or financial results.

Why Mister Sparky

Mister Sparky offers a focused way to build an electrical service business around maintenance, repair and equipment replacement. The brand’s operating procedures, customer-service standards, business training and designated technology provide a framework for coordinating technicians, dispatch and customer relationships. Purchasing arrangements negotiated by the franchisor or BuyMax add an organized supplier network without promising that every purchase will be cheaper.

The model suits an owner who wants to develop a service team and manage quality, staffing and local marketing. A designated Key Person is responsible for day-to-day operating performance, must complete required training and must work at the business office. That person need not be an owner, but the franchisee remains responsible for the business and applicable licensing requirements.

Territory protection is conditional on compliance, including minimum performance requirements, and is not exclusive. Reserved rights permit certain other channels and competing activities. For the right operator, the appeal is a defined electrical-service offering within a broader home-services organization, supported by operating systems and training and developed through local execution.
