About BFT

BFT’s U.S. franchise history began in 2020, when Body Fit Training USA Inc. first offered franchises. In October 2021, BFT Franchise Holdings, LLC acquired the BFT franchise system, trademarks and related intellectual property from that company. The predecessor offered BFT studio franchises from January 2022 through March 2023. Body Fit Training USA’s Australian affiliate held master franchise rights for Australia, Singapore and New Zealand, creating distinct international and U.S. franchise arrangements.

The current U.S. franchisor, BFT Franchise SPV, LLC, was formed in Delaware on March 6, 2023 as part of an internal reorganization. It acquired the system’s intellectual property and began selling franchises on April 4, 2023; earlier franchise and development agreements were assigned to it on December 31, 2023. Based in Irvine, California, it is part of the Xponential Fitness group through its direct parent, XPOF Assetco, LLC. The August 2026 amended disclosure identifies BFT alongside Club Pilates, Pure Barre, StretchLab and YogaSix in Xponential’s franchise portfolio.

The current studio format offers approved strength and endurance, high-intensity intermittent, resistance and hypertrophy-style exercise classes. A typical studio occupies approximately 2,400–2,800 square feet, usually in a commercial retail setting, with designated equipment, operational standards and a learning management system. The April 17, 2026 FDD, amended August 7, 2026, estimates a single-studio initial investment of $691,372–$1,151,135, including a $60,000 initial franchise fee. The estimate excludes tax and includes specified development, presale and first-three-month operating costs. Qualified buyers may enter a separate multi-unit agreement with a development schedule; that agreement’s first-studio estimate does not include the cost of opening all additional studios. BFT’s international franchise information provides a separate route for international inquiries.

BFT Training and Support

BFT separates training for owners, managers and instructors. Before a studio’s soft opening, the owner or operating principal must complete the Owner/Operator Training Module, while an appointed manager must complete the Designated Manager Training Module. The current curriculum lists nine hours for owners and 13 hours for managers, covering sales, member onboarding and retention, marketing, retail, staffing and daily operations. Training is delivered online, at the Irvine headquarters or at another designated location, with scheduling based on availability and the projected opening date. The owner pays personnel-related travel and living expenses.

Coaches complete a separate instructor pathway before delivering approved classes. The FDD describes 17 hours of online fundamentals and 16 hours of practical instructor training, with eight additional hours for head coaches. Subjects include coaching a BFT session, barbells, cardio equipment, kettlebells, BFT3 and studio setup. The initial $5,000 instructor-training fee covers the program for instructors hired before the soft opening, excluding personnel expenses. After opening, new instructors complete practical training with a head coach and take the online fundamentals program at the applicable tuition rate.

Pre-opening resources include access to the learning management system and operating manuals, studio layout and design specifications, equipment and approved-supplier lists, and consultation on the presale phase and Opening Support Program. BFT reviews proposed locations and may provide site-selection guidance or broker contacts, while the franchisee funds and manages site acquisition, construction and equipping. The required Opening Support Program uses an approved third-party supplier and is overseen by BFT’s marketing and sales departments. The initial marketing requirement is at least $15,000; the broader Item 7 estimate budgets $36,800–$50,200 for advertising during presales and the first three months after opening. On-site opening help of one or two business days is discretionary and may involve reimbursement of staff expenses.

Ongoing support includes approved equipment and supplier specifications, advisory assistance as BFT considers appropriate, brand-fund administration and additional training on request at the franchisee’s cost. BFT may require up to five days of additional training annually without tuition for those required sessions, with travel and related expenses paid by the owner. The required business software supports scheduling, payments, member records and reporting; owners pay system fees, maintenance and required upgrades. Local advertising requires the greater of $1,500 or 2% of gross sales each month under the agreement’s rules, separate from the brand fund. Brand-level promotion does not guarantee a particular amount of advertising in an individual studio’s territory.

Why BFT

BFT gives a fitness entrepreneur a specific operating concept to build around: coached sessions across strength and conditioning disciplines, designated equipment, heart-rate technology and a structured education pathway for the people leading classes. Its membership and class-scheduling systems connect that training floor experience with the everyday work of welcoming new members, keeping classes organized and developing customer relationships. For a buyer who enjoys fitness, team leadership and local marketing, those are practical foundations for creating a community around regular coached exercise.

The ownership structure allows an approved manager to supervise daily operations, while the owner remains responsible for the business and its staff. The studio must always be managed and staffed by at least one person who has completed the owner/operator module, and only authorized instructors may deliver approved classes. A designated territory provides limited protections subject to BFT’s reserved rights. The opportunity is best suited to a buyer ready to invest in the facility, develop a capable coaching team and stay involved in membership growth and service quality.
