About Amramp
Amramp’s roots reach back to 1970, when Julian Gordon established Gordon Industries to manufacture ornamental steel products. In 1998 he developed and patented a modular steel wheelchair ramp system and established the Amramp brand. After building a local ramp distribution business, the company began developing its franchise network in 2002.
The company’s history also describes a second generation joining the business: Justin Gordon began as an installer in 2013 and became CEO in 2020 as his father retired. In 2023, the related nonprofit AmrampCARES received its 501(c)(3) designation to help people obtain ramps.
From those manufacturing origins, Amramp expanded into a broader accessibility business. Its current product range includes residential and commercial ramps, stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, bathroom safety equipment and automatic door openers. Local operators serve aging adults, people recovering from injury or surgery, businesses and event organizers.
Amramp Training and Support
Amramp’s official franchise program describes five days of training at its corporate office in Randolph, Massachusetts, combining classroom instruction with field and on-the-job experience. Training covers installation techniques and customer service alongside running the business.
Ongoing support includes headquarters site visits, a dedicated operations team and a national call center. Engineering assistance covers customer layouts, pricing, freight, estimated installation labor and rental options. Marketing resources include local territory landing pages, social media and advertising guidance, plus national-account and local sales support.
Owners also have access to accounting guidance and card-processing assistance, CRM expertise, IT support and a franchise intranet for news and updates. These resources connect the local service operation with the company’s manufacturing and administrative experience.
Why Amramp
Amramp gives an owner a clear local purpose: helping customers overcome physical access barriers. Temporary ramp rentals and longer-term accessibility installations address different situations, from recovery after an injury to making an established home easier to use.
The appeal is a specialized product business with personal customer contact. A buyer who can build relationships, coordinate installations and lead a service-minded team can draw on an established manufacturing history and shared franchise experience.
