The Dryer Vent Wizard franchise provides approved vent-related services to residential and commercial customers. Its April 1, 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) describes the business, training and owner responsibilities. Our Dryer Vent Wizard franchise profile offers a related overview.
The business and its history
Item 1 identifies the current franchisor as Dryer Vent Wizard SPV LLC, a Delaware company formed in November 2020 with its principal office in Waco, Texas. The brand’s operating history reaches back to Dryer Vent Wizard, Inc., which began operating in September 2004. That company did not itself franchise; American Franchise Systems began franchising the system in 2006.
A later predecessor, Dryer Vent Wizard LLC, franchised from April 2011 through March 2021 and was acquired by Neighborly in February 2020. Distinguishing the operating brand’s history from the current legal issuer helps applicants match the opportunity to the correct disclosure document.
Approved services and local requirements
Item 16 describes authorized installation, repair and cleaning services involving dryer, bathroom and kitchen vents, appliances, exhaust and air-movement systems, along with specified washing-machine filters and hoses. The authorized service range can change, and franchisees must follow the system’s service and warranty requirements.
These services involve practical work at customer properties. Applicants should establish which licenses their jurisdiction requires, including contractor licensing where applicable, and how they will meet those requirements. Initial franchise training does not replace local licensing obligations.
Vent maintenance should not be presented as a guarantee against fire or as a promise of particular energy savings. A prospective owner also needs to evaluate local demand, competitors, customer-acquisition costs and the work required to build a customer base.
Location and initial training
Item 11 permits a home-based operation when the location meets territory and zoning requirements. An office may be used instead. The franchisee selects a location subject to the franchisor’s approval. The FDD generally requires opening within 90 days, with training and other pre-opening obligations completed.
Initial instruction covers services, administration, sales, installation and marketing through virtual preparation, classroom instruction and field work. The franchisor may change the delivery arrangements. At least one person responsible for day-to-day management must satisfactorily complete the required training before opening.
The FDD provides initial tuition allowances for specified attendees, but travel, lodging, meals and compensation remain expenses to plan for. Confirm the current schedule, attendee allowances and field-training arrangements before budgeting. The narrative and training table present different field-hour totals, so applicants should obtain clarification rather than assume a single combined duration.
Ongoing support and the owner’s role
Item 11 describes operating manuals, approved-supplier information, opening assistance, communications and updates. Ongoing resources include the marketing fund and Call Center Program, with their applicable requirements. Additional meetings, conventions or training may involve charges and travel costs. Marketing-fund participation does not guarantee results or spending proportional to an individual franchisee’s contributions.
Item 15 generally requires an individual franchisee to perform or directly supervise operations unless the franchisor consents otherwise. An entity must designate a trained owner to supervise on site, subject to the stated exceptions. An approved, trained manager may be used with consent; this is not an unconditional absentee-ownership offering.
Franchisees remain responsible for employees and the daily operation of their businesses. Ask current owners how they organize service appointments, supervise field work, handle customer concerns and develop repeat or referral business. Compare those responsibilities with your skills and available time.
Evaluating the opportunity
Read the applicable FDD’s fees, initial investment, territory provisions and financial performance disclosures alongside the agreement. Training and brand support can provide operating resources, but they do not establish that a local business will be profitable. Build a location-specific budget and clarify any disclosure inconsistencies before committing.
