HealthSource Chiropractic offers clinic franchises for buyers investigating chiropractic practice ownership or management. Its April 8, 2026 FDD distinguishes new clinics, conversions of existing practices and clinic-management arrangements. The appropriate structure depends on the buyer’s qualifications and applicable law.
What is the HealthSource franchise?
The franchisor is HealthSource Chiropractic, LLC. Item 1 identifies an Ohio corporation established in December 2005, converted to a limited liability company in March 2022. It began offering franchises in February 2006. The disclosed parent is ZCS Holdings, Inc.
The FDD describes a clinic system combining chiropractic services and rehabilitation-related services. These are descriptions of the business offering, not proof of treatment effectiveness or a promise that patients will become pain-free. Item 16 leaves clinical decisions to the individual professionals involved.
Who can own or manage a clinic?
Item 1 generally limits clinic franchises to licensed chiropractic providers unless otherwise permitted by law or structured as an approved Clinic Management Business. In the management arrangement, the franchisee enters a management agreement with a Licensed Provider that owns and operates the clinic. The actual agreement must meet the requirements applicable to its location and receive franchisor approval.
Do not assume an investor can provide clinical services or control professional decisions simply by purchasing a franchise. Establish the permitted ownership structure, licensed-provider responsibilities and management arrangements before selecting a location or signing agreements.
Item 15 requires active participation by the individual owner or an approved representative of an entity unless an on-site general manager is approved. A general manager’s qualifications require prior written approval, and initial training must be completed before taking that role.
Franchise fees and applicant qualifications
Item 5 confirms a $60,000 initial franchise fee for the first new startup clinic. It separately lists $35,000 for a chiropractor-owned conversion clinic. Those fees are not the full startup investment, and a multi-clinic development agreement has a separate fee schedule.
Request a complete budget that covers premises, equipment, staffing, marketing, software, insurance and working capital. Resolve any differences among the FDD’s cost schedules before relying on a total. Neither meeting applicant requirements nor paying the franchise fee assures profitable operations.
Training and ongoing support
Item 11 describes self-directed, virtual and classroom instruction, plus clinic observation. The training table totals 152 classroom hours and 51 on-the-job hours, with classroom components in Avon, Ohio. The curriculum includes practice management, clinical and administrative systems, software, marketing and compliance, and is subject to change.
Required participants must complete the program to the franchisor’s satisfaction. Initial tuition is not charged to people required to attend, but personnel compensation and applicable attendance expenses remain owner responsibilities. Confirm the delivery format and travel arrangements before budgeting.
The FDD also describes continuing training and a mandatory annual conference. Ask which staff must attend, the schedule and the costs you will bear. Marketing resources and training are business support; they do not establish patient demand, clinical outcomes or investment returns.
Contract term and operating decisions
Item 17 lists an initial ten-year franchise term. Renewal is conditional and can require signing the then-current agreement, which may contain different terms. Review the renewal conditions, costs, transfer provisions and termination obligations alongside the initial commitment.
For your proposed clinic, investigate staffing, referral relationships, appointment capacity and payment collection. Ask how responsibilities are divided between the business manager and licensed providers. Compare the actual agreements for a startup, conversion or management arrangement instead of assuming their obligations are identical.
