About WSI

WSI was founded in Toronto in 1995 by Dan Monaghan, Paul Monaghan and Mark Dobson. National Internet Corporation, its U.S. franchisor, was incorporated in Delaware in 1996 and began offering WSI-branded businesses in 2001. The franchise connects independent business owners with a network of approved digital-service providers.

Services are delivered through WSI’s eMarketplace supplier network and can include digital strategy, SEO, website design, content, online advertising, analytics, CRM integration and AI-enabled services. Franchisees work with business clients to select and coordinate suitable marketing solutions. The business may be operated from a home office within the designated territory.

Franchise formats and management

WSI offers regional, national and international formats. The regional franchise covers an identified state, the national format covers the United States, and the international format permits services where lawful in other countries. All three territories are nonexclusive. Initial franchise fees are $64,700, $69,700 and $79,700 respectively.

An entity franchisee appoints a trained operating principal who owns at least 51% and has authority over the business. Daily operations require active, full-time management by that principal or a suitably qualified trained manager. Owners oversee client relationships, sales activity and the delivery of services through approved providers.

WSI Training and Support

Initial training begins with online learning and coaching, followed by a five-day in-person program in Toronto or another designated location. The curriculum combines 55 classroom hours and 35 practical hours across operations, marketing and sales, digital delivery, and professional development. Up to two individuals may attend, including the owner or operating principal, with travel and living costs paid separately.

After initial training and opening, the required six-month Quick Start Program combines group calls, personal coaching and practical application. It focuses on developing prospects, client meetings, sales activity and business operations. Completion forms part of the WSI certification process. Further learning includes webinars, courses, strategy and AI consulting programs; a third-party sales course may also be required at additional cost unless waived.

WSI provides access to its manuals, virtual office, supplier network, communication platform, CRM, email and a franchise website. Ongoing support includes sales, operations and marketing coaching, technical-vendor evaluation, resource libraries and client education material. Technology, education and branding services carry continuing fees, and owners manage their own approved marketing and client-service activity.

Why WSI

WSI offers a consulting-led route into digital marketing with approved specialists available to deliver a broad range of services. This lets a franchisee bring together website, advertising, search and automation work around a client’s business needs. The supplier network, business tools and shared learning resources provide a framework for managing those relationships.

The opportunity may suit an owner who enjoys business development, problem-solving and explaining marketing choices to clients. Initial training and the six-month Quick Start Program connect technical understanding with practical sales and operating skills. A home-office option and multiple territory formats give candidates different ways to structure their business, with active management and client service remaining essential.
