About Medi Weightloss
The history disclosed in Medi-Weightloss’s April 30, 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document begins with affiliated licensed businesses in July 2005. Physician’s Health Management, LLC and Medi-Weightloss Clinics LLC granted licenses through February 2008 to businesses operating in a similar manner to the later franchises, with limited support. The current franchisor, Medi-Weightloss Franchising USA, LLC, was formed in Florida on January 24, 2008 and began offering franchises in February 2008. Its headquarters are in Tampa, Florida.
On October 28, 2022, Medi-Weightloss Buyer, Inc., an affiliate of Audax Management Company, acquired the membership interests in the franchisor and specified related companies. The system now offers individual clinic franchises and a separate area-development option for qualified operators who commit to opening multiple businesses. Its core offering comprises medically supervised weight loss, wellness, nutrition and weight-management products and services. Additional programs require the franchisor’s permission and the relevant agreements.
For one clinic, Item 7 estimates an initial investment of $257,750–$490,860, including a $60,000 franchise fee, a $49,000–$54,000 initial package and a separate $15,000 training fee. Clinics are typically 1,500–2,000 square feet. Under the management-business model described in the FDD, the franchise supplies non-clinical management, marketing and facility services to an authorized medical provider, which controls clinical care and medical personnel. The permitted structure depends on the owner’s qualifications and applicable state requirements.
Medi Weightloss Training and Support
Before opening, Medi-Weightloss provides its initial training program, initial equipment-and-supply package, operating-manual access, basic clinic design and layout specifications, approved supplier information and a start-up marketing campaign. Site-selection advice is available on request, and the franchisor reviews the proposed site and lease for its requirements. Owners arrange architectural and engineering plans, construction, permits and equipment installation. The FDD describes a typical opening period of six months, within a wider one-to-12-month range, with opening required no later than 12 months after signing and subject to completion of the pre-opening requirements.
Owner/Manager Training lasts two to five days and is delivered at the Tampa training facility, through e-learning and/or at an operating clinic. The curriculum covers the program, operating systems, electronic medical records, sales, medical guidelines, compliance and pharmacy management, supplements, marketing, business operations and financial management. The published table provides 22–46 classroom hours and 24–50 on-the-job hours. Training for unlicensed franchisees focuses on business, retail and back-office functions rather than medical practice.
Professional Training is separate and lasts up to five days at the Tampa facility or an operating clinic. At least one physician and one other medical professional must complete it satisfactorily. For a new clinic, an Opening Team of at least one member provides approximately two to four days of assistance and training at the location, covering the program, inventory, compliance, customer service, marketing, sales, supplements, office procedures, equipment and electronic medical records. The $15,000 training fee covers initial attendance and opening-team training services; attendees pay their own travel, lodging, meals and related expenses. On-site opening-team assistance is not required for transfers, although transfer owners must complete the specified management and professional training.
After opening, support includes operating standards, access to the manual, advice based on reports or inspections, and additional system training. Refresher or remedial training may be required, and new Responsible Owners and Franchise Managers must complete initial training before assuming management responsibility. National or regional meetings and conferences are mandatory when required, with applicable fees and travel expenses. Periodic operational visits and help locating medical professionals are discretionary. Required platforms include Advantage, QuickBooks and designated electronic medical-record software; optional paid services can include marketing, optimization and contact-center support. Owners remain responsible for staffing and day-to-day employee training within their permitted non-clinical or healthcare-business role.
Why Medi Weightloss
Medi-Weightloss gives a prospective owner a defined way to build the business operations surrounding a medically supervised weight-management clinic. Its separate owner, professional and opening-team training reflects the different skills needed to run the business and deliver patient services. The branded product range, clinic operating procedures, start-up marketing and administrative systems give an owner specific resources to organize the operation. The individual-clinic and area-development options also allow qualified prospects to consider different scales of ownership.
This model fits someone prepared to manage people, facilities, finances and local marketing while maintaining clear clinical boundaries. The FDD requires at least two approved Franchise Managers and a Responsible Owner with day-to-day operating authority; for a business entity, the Responsible Owner and at least one Franchise Manager must each meet the specified 10% ownership requirement, and the same person may serve in both roles. A capable local management team and the appropriate licensed medical-provider relationship are central to the ownership model.
