About Break Coffee Co.
Roots in Xpresso Delight
Break Coffee Co. traces its origins to Xpresso Delight, founded in 2003. The original concept brought premium coffee systems into workplaces, pairing equipment and supplies with an ongoing service relationship. The international business began franchising in Australia in 2004 and New Zealand in 2006, establishing the foundation for its office coffee approach.
In the United States, predecessor XD Franchising, LLC offered Xpresso Delight franchises from March 2013 through February 2020. The 2026 FDD describes the Break Coffee Co. system as substantially similar to that earlier operation and records the transition of legacy U.S. franchisees to the Break Coffee Co. brand by July 2023.
The current U.S. franchise business
Break Coffee Co Franchising LLC was formed in Delaware in September 2023 and is based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The current franchisor began offering Break Coffee Co. franchises in April 2025. Its support structure includes affiliated companies responsible for brand licensing, equipment and product supply, and centralized customer billing and collections.
The business serves professional offices, commercial centers and other workplaces where employees and visitors use coffee and beverage systems. Its product platform includes coffee machines, beans and supplies, alongside approved tea, cold brew and water-system offerings. Owners focus on winning suitable business accounts and maintaining consistent service over time.
One territory or a broader service area
Franchisees can operate from a home office and purchase one or multiple territories. The investment overview on this page reflects one territory, including a $59,500 initial franchise fee and an initial purchase of six beverage machines. The FDD separately estimates $137,525–$276,000 for two to five territories. Territory size, account requirements and any additional fees are defined by the applicable agreement.
Break Coffee Co. Training and Support
Initial sales and operations training
The initial program is a two-day course with 16 classroom hours, held in Jersey City, New York City or another designated location. An individual franchisee, or at least one owner of a franchise entity, must successfully complete it. Topics include coffee preparation, installation demonstrations, lead generation, customer conversations, handling objections, account sourcing, marketing planning and customer service.
The FDD’s initial investment estimate includes $1,000–$3,000 for training expenses. Owners are responsible for travel and living costs. Supplemental on-the-job training in the territory is available on request for a separate trainer fee and travel expenses.
Getting the business ready
Pre-opening support includes agreed territory boundaries, access to operating manuals and training materials, and delivery of the six initial beverage machines after payment. A start-up kit provides items such as spare hoses, cleaning supplies, procedures, business cards and branded shirts. The franchisor also supplies specifications for other required products and equipment and provides samples or artwork for initial marketing.
Ongoing customer and business support
Centralized billing and collection services handle customer payments on the franchisee’s behalf. Owners can request assistance by telephone, video conference or email within the support team’s availability and reasonable limits. Continuing guidance includes product and supplier specifications, promotional materials as available and advice on pricing. Additional training and business meetings may be required, with attendance and travel costs borne by the owner.
Local selling and marketing remain the franchisee’s responsibility. The FDD requires a $5,000 opening campaign and subsequent local advertising spending until the stated machine-placement threshold is met. The owner must personally supervise the business; operating part time is permitted with adequate oversight, while appointing a non-owner manager requires approval.
Why Break Coffee Co.
Bring the coffee experience into the workplace
Break Coffee Co. gives an owner a practical business conversation to start: improving the coffee employees and visitors enjoy during their working day. Machines, replenishment and service are combined in one business relationship. As an owner develops accounts, the opportunity centers on repeat supply and service needs rather than relying on walk-in retail traffic.
A lean base for a relationship-driven business
The home-office format keeps the focus on customers and service routes. Owners work with a defined product system, initial equipment package and centralized billing, while putting their own effort into prospecting, account care and reliable delivery. For someone with business contacts or a strong customer-service background, those activities offer a clear way to apply existing skills.
The model can also accommodate an owner building the business alongside other activities, provided required supervision and customer service are maintained. Growth depends on acquiring and retaining suitable accounts, managing travel efficiently and meeting the franchise agreement’s operating requirements.
