About B.O.R. Restoration
BOR Franchising, LLC was formed in Colorado in January 2018 and began franchising that month under the Best Option Restoration, BOR and B.O.R. names. The franchisor is based in Littleton, Colorado. The April 16, 2026 FDD, amended July 16, identifies no parent or predecessor and describes a system focused on property restoration services.
The business developed around work for properties affected by water, fire, mold and other contaminants, together with contents cleaning, repairs and construction. Franchisees serve homeowners, businesses and governmental clients, offering the authorized services for which they have the required licenses and qualifications. The model brings equipment and technicians to the job while the office is generally operated from home.
The current leadership includes Kyle Chiasson, identified in Item 2 as CEO since January 2025 and as a trainer with experience operating a Denver-area BOR location. That operating experience informs a franchise program centered on estimating, equipment use, safety, sales and local business management.
The disclosed initial investment is $186,484 to $231,034, including the $35,000 franchise fee. Major components include a $127,000 opening package of restoration equipment, tools, supplies and computer hardware, a $3,999 software license and a $2,995 technology startup fee. Vehicle costs vary depending on whether the owner already has a qualifying truck and trailer or enclosed truck. The investment estimate includes three months of additional operating funds.
B.O.R. Restoration Training and Support
Initial training comprises approximately five days, with 40 classroom hours and 15 practical hours. Instruction takes place in Littleton, Colorado, or another designated location. The curriculum covers sales and marketing, estimating software and systems, machinery operation, safety equipment and questions about operating the business. The practical portion includes using the BOR Software Suite, checking safety equipment and operating restoration machinery.
The required owner, Principal Operator or Designated Manager must complete initial training before opening. Two people may attend under the initial program; the second attendee can train within the first year under the stated conditions. The franchisee pays travel, lodging, meals and wages, while additional attendees, replacement managers and certain repeat or refresher programs can incur training fees.
Pre-opening assistance includes assigning the territory, delivering the opening package and software, supplying operating manuals and providing reasonable phone, text and email support. The opening package includes items such as air movers, air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, liquid extraction and mold-cleaning equipment, smoke-removal equipment and thermal imaging tools. Owners arrange the required business vehicle, insurance and permits and are responsible for preparing their employees to work safely and competently.
After opening, BOR offers additional training and support through phone, text and email, with manuals and system updates as available. The franchisor reviews proposed advertising and inspects businesses for compliance with operating standards. Additional programs and promotional resources are provided at the frequency and scope the franchisor determines. A mandatory conference carries an attendance fee and owner-paid travel expenses; further requested training can also carry fees.
The BOR Software Suite includes estimating and customer-relationship management functions, with updates covered by its monthly license fee. Owners also maintain Microsoft 365 and QuickBooks Online licenses. The technology startup fee establishes a landing page on the brand website. Marketing responsibilities include a minimum $500 opening campaign during the first three months, monthly local advertising equal to the greater of $1,500 or 5% of gross sales under the current schedule, and the national branding contribution. Local advertising requires franchisor approval.
Why B.O.R. Restoration
Best Option Restoration combines hands-on property services with a defined equipment and software package. An owner can build a business around responding to damage, organizing restoration work and helping clients move projects forward, with a home-based office supporting the field operation. The range of authorized services offers several ways to serve local properties as the team develops the appropriate skills and licenses.
The franchise assigns a territory built from ZIP codes around approximately 200,000 people. The agreement limits additional BOR franchise or company locations in that territory while reserving certain alternative-channel and other-brand rights. A referral program provides a process for franchisees to cooperate when customer inquiries cross territory boundaries. Those features give the owner a defined local area and a framework for working within the wider system.
At least one trained person must devote full-time attention to day-to-day operations. BOR recommends that the owner or Principal Operator lead the business, although a trained Designated Manager may perform that role. The opportunity is best suited to a buyer ready to manage a technical service team and stay involved in local sales and project delivery. Contact FranchiseTop40 to explore whether B.O.R.
