About WoodHouse Spa

The Woodhouse SPAS, LLC traces its corporate history to a Texas corporation formed in March 2003 and began offering franchises in August 2003. It converted to a limited liability company in 2020 and operates within the Radiance organization. Franchisees use the Woodhouse, Woodhouse Spa and Woodhouse Day Spa names to operate locations offering the brand’s approved treatments and retail products.

Most franchised spas range from 5,000 to 7,000 square feet, typically in commercial shopping-center settings. The business requires treatment space, furnishings, fixtures, specialized equipment, inventory, technology and an appropriately staffed guest-service operation. The initial franchise fee is $60,000. There is also a $5,000 initial training fee for the operating principal and general manager and a $10,000 new-location launch program fee, separate from the required grand opening promotion budget.

An operating principal is responsible for the business and generally must hold at least a 25% ownership interest in an entity franchisee unless otherwise approved. With written consent, an owner may appoint a full-time general manager to supervise operations, while the operating principal remains responsible for that manager’s performance. Required staffing typically includes a massage therapist, esthetician and nail technician with the registrations or licenses applicable to their work.

WoodHouse Spa Training and Support

Initial training has three stages that follow the development of the spa. The first consists of weekly educational calls or webinars over approximately 16 weeks, covering operations and marketing practices. The second is an approximately three-day program focused on the Woodhouse brand, management roles and front- and back-of-house operations. It may take place at the corporate office, virtually or at a designated spa.

The third stage takes place on site shortly before opening, after the spa receives its certificate of occupancy. The operating principal and applicable general manager must complete initial training satisfactorily. The training fee covers their participation; the franchisee pays related travel, accommodation, meals and wages. This gives management a sequence of preparation rather than a single introductory session.

Preopening assistance includes site-selection guidance, review of proposed locations, prototype design plans, supplier lists, operating manuals and opening assistance subject to personnel availability. After launch, the franchisor evaluates operations, provides advice and materials on spa management, updates approved supplier resources and administers marketing programs. Required booking and point-of-sale systems and participation in the online reservation system support the spa’s daily administration and guest booking process.

Why WoodHouse Spa

Woodhouse offers a spa concept with several complementary service categories and retail products. Massage, facials, body treatments and nail services allow guests to choose individual treatments or a broader visit within the same location. The model combines that service range with brand standards for the environment, presentation and operating procedures.

The business is suited to an owner interested in leading a team and maintaining a consistent guest experience. Treatment professionals deliver services while management coordinates scheduling, staffing, inventory, customer communication and local marketing. The brand’s reservation tools and operational systems provide a common framework for those daily responsibilities.

A staged opening and training process supports the transition from site development to operating a spa. The option to appoint an approved full-time general manager can fit an owner who wants a defined management structure. Single-location ownership and separately approved multi-spa development arrangements offer different ways to participate, with the operating principal remaining accountable for the business across either approach.

When evaluating an ownership proposal, use our owner participation and management checklist to prepare questions about staffing, management coverage and the business responsibilities you would retain. Confirm the requirements for the specific offering.
