About Water Babies

Water Babies franchise businesses offer swimming and water-survival instruction for babies, toddlers and children, together with underwater photography and related retail products. Lessons operate from one or more rented pools within the franchise territory. The model therefore centers on pool access, instructor development, customer relationships and class administration rather than building a dedicated pool facility.

Water Babies Group Limited, the predecessor identified in the FDD, has offered franchises in the United Kingdom since 2004 and has franchisees in other international markets. Water Babies US Franchise LLC was formed in January 2025 and began offering United States franchises in May 2025. The April 3, 2026 FDD identifies Carl Higgins as president of North America since January 2026, following earlier roles within the organization.

The single-business initial franchise fee is $55,000. A separate $6,000 training fee covers initial business and aquatics training for one principal and one aquatics director when they attend together; additional or separately timed participation can carry further charges. The franchisor provides pool-selection criteria and authorizes proposed pools. Franchisees negotiate pool arrangements and supply the team and local operating resources needed to run the lessons.

Water Babies Training and Support

Preparation combines business and aquatic instruction through self-learning, virtual sessions and practical training. Business topics include marketing, pool acquisition, finance, planning, customer service, human resources, photography, retail products, technology and administration. The teacher course includes five to seven days of in-person instruction plus mentored and assessed lessons. Owners and any appointed aquatics director must complete the required program before offering lessons, and swim instructors must pass the required instructor training.

Pre-opening assistance includes pool-selection guidelines and authorization, equipment and supplier specifications, training and electronic access to the operations manual. Franchisees remain responsible for required certifications, staff background checks, hiring and supervision. They also pay travel, accommodation, wages and applicable third-party training expenses. The Right Start materials and marketing setup support the introduction of the local business.

During operation, a representative is available by telephone during regular business hours to discuss support needs. The franchisor communicates operating standards, researches products and training methods, provides marketing-plan templates and advertising materials, and administers the brand fund. System workshops, conferences or refresher training may be required, with associated fees and attendance expenses. The proprietary Ada platform and designated technology systems support franchise administration; instructor development and local customer service remain ongoing operating responsibilities.

Why Water Babies

Water Babies provides a defined swim-instruction program that can operate through relationships with existing pool facilities. Its combination of aquatic training, family-facing lessons, underwater photography and related products gives the owner several connected activities to organize within one local business. The franchise framework includes pool criteria, teaching preparation, marketing resources and common operating systems.

The opportunity is suited to an owner interested in developing instructors, managing schedules and building relationships with families and pool operators. The owner and any aquatics director must complete training and provide direct, full-time, in-person supervision. Each additional franchise business requires a designated full-time aquatics director. This is a practical operating role with responsibility for the people and processes behind the class experience.
