About Granite Garage Floors

Granite Garage Floors Franchising, LLC was formed in Georgia in June 2013 and began offering franchises that year. Its franchise system centers on the sale, installation, servicing and refurbishment of concrete garage floors with epoxy coatings. In May 2022, the company became part of Threshold Brands, connecting the business with a broader family of home service franchise brands while retaining its garage-floor specialty.

The customer base includes homeowners building a new house and owners who want to coat or recoat an existing garage floor. Local customer development can involve builders, designers, architects and remodelers as well as direct consumer marketing. Franchisees work within an assigned territory and use prescribed installation procedures, customer service standards, marketing methods and approved materials. The territory includes certain location-based protections, subject to the franchisor’s reserved rights and other channels of competition.

The estimated initial investment is $149,500–$222,200, including a $50,000 initial franchise fee. The estimate covers the service vehicle arrangements, graphics and upfit, equipment, starting inventory, launch marketing and initial working capital. The vehicle allowance assumes four months of lease payments, including a deposit; it does not represent outright purchase of the vehicle. A commercial storefront is not required: an appropriately zoned and suitable residence may serve as the business base, while the upper rent allowance includes a warehouse-style storage unit.

Granite Garage Floors Training and Support

Initial training combines approximately 62 hours of virtual classroom instruction with 81 hours of field training. The field component is divided between a designated training location and the franchisee’s territory. The curriculum covers pre-opening preparation, foundational business knowledge, sales, recruitment, software and point-of-sale use, local and digital marketing, installation procedures and technical practice. The schedule includes hands-on instruction in Cleveland, Ohio, and 40 hours of technical training at the franchisee’s location.

The program is included for up to two attendees: the owner or designated operating principal and a manager or technician. Attendees pay their travel, lodging, wages and related expenses; additional participants are subject to space and a fee. The operating principal and designated employees must complete required training before the business opens. The owner remains responsible for training later hires to the system’s standards.

Before launch, the franchisor designates the territory, supplies access to the operations manual, identifies equipment and material sources, provides bookkeeping software and branded email licenses, and supplies a template for the launch advertising plan. Opening requires an approved, wrapped and equipped vehicle and completion of the pre-opening requirements. Optional digital marketing services and paid lead-generation tools are available at additional cost.

After opening, franchisees may request technical, managerial and administrative guidance by telephone, email and other office-based communication. Extended on-site assistance is available by agreement for a daily consulting charge plus travel and living expenses. The franchisor may offer advanced training in person or remotely; optional programs can carry fees. This structure gives an owner access to installation and business support while keeping local hiring, pricing and daily execution in the franchisee’s hands.

Why Granite Garage Floors

Granite Garage Floors offers a clearly defined specialty: helping homeowners improve one specific, visible part of their property. That focus allows an owner to organize sales, equipment, staff training and job scheduling around garage-floor coating projects. The vehicle-based operation and option to run the office from a suitable home can appeal to buyers who prefer a field service business to a retail location.

The opportunity suits an involved operator who can develop referral relationships, follow up with homeowners and supervise consistent project delivery. You or your operating principal must supervise the business, and the principal must have authority over its decisions. For that buyer, the appeal is a combination of a recognizable service proposition, practical installation training and a repeatable local operating structure. A network of homeowner contacts and building professionals provides several ways to introduce the service, while the specialized coating work gives the team a concrete skill around which to build its reputation.
