About Strickland Brothers

Justin Strickland opened the first Strickland Brothers location in Thomasville, North Carolina, in December 2016. He named the business after his sons, Tate and Beckett. His earlier experience included starting Taterbugs Drive Thru Oil Change with Mark Agan in Greensboro in 2012, a separate business that preceded the Strickland Brothers brand.

A second Strickland Brothers shop opened in King, North Carolina, in May 2018. In a February 2020 announcement published that March, the company introduced Josh Hill as its first franchisee in North Carolina. The announcement described Hill’s plans for the Triad area; those development plans were not a report of completed locations.

The customer experience centers on a drive-thru bay, an oil selection suited to the vehicle and a courtesy check. The company describes checking items such as lights, air filters, wipers and tire pressure. Its current service page says most oil changes take about ten minutes, rather than promising that every visit will take exactly that long.

Strickland Brothers Training and Support

Strickland Brothers’ current franchise FAQ describes initial training, onboarding and continuing operational support. The company says prior automotive experience is not required. During its introductory franchise discussion, it reviews market planning, site-selection criteria and support, the business model and ongoing training.

The public FAQ does not specify the current owner-training curriculum, duration, location or required participants. Prospective owners should review those details with the franchise team when assessing the opportunity. The company’s separate employee leadership program is not presented here as the franchise-owner training program.

Why Strickland Brothers

Strickland Brothers offers a focused automotive-service format built around convenience: customers arrive without appointments and stay in their vehicles during the oil change. The courtesy-check process gives the team a defined set of routine service steps and a way to explain what was checked before the customer leaves.

The franchise seeks owners who remain actively involved, including those who hire a shop manager. Its candidate guidance identifies management and leadership skills, prior business or franchise experience, and real-estate or development experience as useful backgrounds. Buyers should consider the responsibilities of supervising a service business and following its operating systems when judging whether the opportunity fits their goals.
